Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc is seeking a GI Technician for the Surgery Center of Boerne. This position involves assisting the surgeon during endoscopic procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining equipment. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of experience in a GI Lab and a High School Diploma.

Overview

GI Technician — Surgery Center of Boerne. Welcome to Surgery Center of Boerne. Situated just north of San Antonio. We have 3 OR rooms and 2 Treatment rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology, General, Orthopedics. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Responsibilities

• The GI Technician/Endoscopy operates under the direct supervision of a surgeon to assist with the operation of technical equipment used during both simple and complex endoscopic procedures.
• The physician, registered nurse, and GI technician collaborate in the procedure room to create ideal conditions for achieving positive patient outcomes.
• The GI technician is also responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining endoscopes and other instruments.
• Additional duties: managing patient flow, preparing the room for procedures, stocking supplies, ordering materials, and handling various clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a GI Lab
• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital preferred
• Current BLS required, ACLS preferred
