Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Centerpoint Ambulatory Surgery Center in Independence, Missouri seeks an Endoscopy Tech to assist with GI/Endoscopy procedures under the direction of a GI/Endoscopy Nurse. The role focuses on patient care, safety, and adherence to sterile technique in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

You will maintain a sanitary environment, handle endoscopy equipment, prepare rooms and supplies, and aid in specimen labeling and communication with surgeons and circulating RNs.

Qualifications

• One-year acute care experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a sanitary environment for your patient.
• Demonstrate knowledge of high disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
• Prepare the endoscopy unit adequately and ensure availability of necessary GI equipment and supplies.
• Clean GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepare rooms for the next case.
• Assist in the maintenance, care and labeling of specimens.
• Identify specimen with the surgeon and pass to the circulating RN.
