Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Frisco, TX seeks a Gastroenterology Technician 2 for PRN daytime shifts. You will work under clinical oversight, perform GI procedures, and guide teammates to maintain safety and standards.

Orientation is required, with 1–2 years of Endo/GI tech experience preferred. The role emphasizes equipment cleaning, sterilization, and collaboration with nurses and physicians to ensure high-quality GI procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with non-sedation procedures; inform patients and answer questions about the process.
• Assist with sedation procedures; monitor vital signs and assist with emergencies.

• Support recovery area; monitor patient data and prepare slides for lab investigation.
• Document data during patient admission and discharge in the GI Lab.
• Order supplies; coordinate with vendors for timely delivery; manage equipment maintenance.

Endoscopy Lab

SHIFT/SCHEDULE

PRN Days, 7:30 AM- 4:00 PM, availability for 1-2 days a week between Monday - Friday (preferably Tuesday & Wednesday). Our primary need is Tuesday and then occasionally some Wednesdays. 4 days of on call per month.

MUST be able to attend a one week mandatory orientation: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

1-2 years of recent Endo/GI Tech experience required. Experience in the endoscopy and pulmonology procedure suite. Advanced GI and pulmonology experience preferred. (such as ERCP, EUS, ION bronchoscopy).

Job Summary

As a Gastroenterology Technician 2, you work under clinical oversight. You perform examinations and procedures proficiently. You guide fellow technicians to ensure procedures meet standards. You oversee teammates cleaning and sterilizing equipment. Your role helps maintain a safe healthcare environment.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Help with procedures not needing sedation, making sure patients are informed, answering questions about the process.
• Partner with nurses and doctors during sedation procedures. Use scopes, monitor vital signs, and assist with emergencies like CPR.
• Keep equipment clean and sanitized. Train and oversee others to ensure quality control during gastrointestinal procedures.
• Assist in the recovery room by monitoring and noting patient physiological data. Additionally, you'll prepare specimen slides for lab investigation.
• Make sure technicians follow standards. Give feedback and train new technicians.
• Partner with Clinical Nurses in documenting required data during patient admission and discharge in the GI Lab.
• Order supplies, get supervisor approval, and communicate with vendors for timely delivery.
• Monitor equipment, create quality reports.
• Manage maintenance schedules and installation.

Qualifications

• You need a Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate or willingness to get one within (30) thirty days.
