Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital is seeking a dedicated Unit Secretary to support the Endoscopy and Ambulatory Care teams. You will assist physicians during procedures, manage supplies and maintain patient charts, while ensuring a clean and organized work environment.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and preferred experience as a Unit Secretary or CNA/MA, with current AHA BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• GI/OR Technology program or CNA/MA program is preferred.
• Previous experience as Unit Secretary or CNA/MA is preferred.
• Current AHA BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician in endoscopic procedures.
• Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment per policy.
• Provides care to Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patients under RN direction.
• Performs clerical duties to assure ambulatory care and endoscopy operations.
• Assembles and maintains patient chart material, maintains records/files, keeps workstation clean.
• Completes charges for patients.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures. Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order. Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy. Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Performance of clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy. Assemble and maintain patient chart material, maintain records and files, maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation. Completes charges for patients.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school graduate or equivalent. Preferred graduate of GI/OR Technology program or CNA/MA program.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Previous experience as Unit Secretary preferred or as CNA/MA.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current AHA BLS Certification required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in Endoscopy preferred.
