Job summary

Houston Physicians' Hospital is seeking a PRN Endoscopy Tech to join our surgical center team. You will prepare and maintain GI equipment, assist physicians during GI and pain management procedures, and support preop and recovery activities to ensure smooth patient flow.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and quality patient care in a busy environment. A current BLS and high school diploma are required; OR tech certification is a plus. This is a PRN, on-site position at our Houston facility.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certification in Operating Room Technology a plus.
• Current BLS required.
• MA Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to the OR and GI.
• Strong Customer Service Skills.
• Manual dexterity to handle instruments quickly.
• Must be conscientious, organized and able to handle the stress of a busy operating room & GI lab environment.
• Must be able to function as a team player.
• Possess the ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Must be able to communicate and understand the English language, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and anticipate Physician and patient needs for GI procedures.
• Oversee GI procedures and maintain all aspects of the GI procedure area.
• Assess patients prior to procedure and document intra-procedure notes.
• Assist physician on all GI procedures.
• Clean and maintain equipment per policy.
• Assist in Preop and Recovery, turnover bays, discharge patients, basic patient assistance and stocking.

Responsible for rendering professional care to patients undergoing GI and PAIN management procedures within the surgical center in accordance with established procedures. Functions cooperatively with physicians and staff, exhibiting teamwork characteristics. Prepares equipment and anticipates Physician and patient needs for GI procedures.
