Job summary

Eastside Medical Center is seeking an Endoscopy/Ambulatory Care Assistant to support physicians during endoscopic procedures and to maintain readiness of supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department.

The role involves patient care under RN supervision, clerical tasks, chart preparation, and maintaining a clean, organized workstation. CNA/MA or GI/OR tech training is preferred, with a GED required.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• GI/OR Technology program is preferred.
• CNA/MA program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures.
• Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy.
• Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Performs clerical duties to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy.
• Assembles and maintains patient chart material, maintains records and files, keeps workstation orderly, and completes charges for patients.

• Previous experience as Unit Secretary or as CNA/MA Preferred
• Previous experience in Endoscopy Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current AHA BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
