Job summary

Eastside Medical Center is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support physicians during endoscopic and interventional procedures. You will maintain supplies and equipment, disinfect and decontaminate instruments, and ensure the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy areas run smoothly under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities include accurate charting, light clerical tasks, and completing patient charges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of GI/OR Technology program preferred.
• 2 years of Endoscopy Tech experience required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• GTS certification preferred.
• AGTS certification preferred.

Job description

Responsibilities

Assists the physician in the performance of endoscopic and various complex interventional cases. Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order. Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy. Provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Performance of clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy. Assemble and maintain patient chart material, maintain records and files, maintains order, cleanliness of the workstation. Completes charges for patients.

• Graduate of GI/OR Technology program Preferred

Work Experience

• 2 years of Endoscopy Tech experience Required
• Previous experience in Endoscopy Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current AHA BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
• GTS Certification Preferred
• AGTS Certification Preferred
