Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Georgia is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to assist physicians in endoscopic and interventional cases. The role involves maintaining Endoscopy Department supplies and equipment, cleaning and disinfecting tools, and providing patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

The position requires a GED, with a GI/OR Technology program preferred, and 4 years of Endoscopy Tech experience. BLS is required; GTS/AGTS certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician in endoscopic and complex interventional cases.
• Maintains supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment according to unit and hospital policy.
• Provides appropriate patient care to Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Performs clerical duties to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy.
• Assembles and maintains patient chart material, maintains records and files, keeps workstation orderly.
• Completes charges for patients.

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Graduate of GI/OR Technology program Preferred

Work Experience

• 4 years Four (4) years of Endoscopy Tech experience. Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current AHA BLS Certification required. Upon Hire Required
• GTS Certification Preferred
• AGTS Certification Preferred
