Job summary

Adventist Health in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a GI Lab Technician to assist gastroenterologists with procedures and manage endoscopy room preparation and sterilization. Qualifications

  • High School Education or GED required.
  • CPR or BLS certification required.
  • Two years' GI/operating room experience preferred.
  • HLFS (Hospital Fire and Life Safety) certification required per AH policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians with GI procedures, endoscopy room setup and cleaning, specimen collection, and supervision of sterilization processes.
  • Performs disinfection, cleaning, testing, and storage of endoscopes and clinical equipment; follows Universal Protocol and National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Transports patients between departments and provides direct endoscopy patient care under supervision of registered nurses.
  • Inventories supplies and communicates inventory needs; procures equipment, supplies, and linen for endoscopy cases.
  • Collects data for performance improvement and participates in related activities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
