Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME seeks an Endoscopy Technician to assist GI physicians and scrub during invasive endoscopy procedures. You will handle biopsies, APC, Barrx, dilation, and specimen collection while ensuring safe transport and strict reprocessing of endoscopes.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS certification, and preferred Surgical Technology certification with OR experience. This is a part-time position with day shifts.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Surgical Technology certificate preferred.
• Anatomy/physiology and basic chemistry coursework preferred.
• One year of Operating room experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist GI physician and scrub during invasive endoscopy procedures.
• Perform duties including biopsy, APC, Barrx, dilation, specimen handling.
• Ensure safe transport, disinfection, sterilization, and maintenance of endoscopes and reprocessing devices.
• Confirm GI suite procedure readiness, supplies, and equipment before patient enters the GI suite.
• Follow SGNA, JCAHO, and CDC guidelines in daily practice.
