Job summary

Bronson Battle Creek Hospital is seeking a dedicated Endoscopy Technician to support Endoscopy/Surgical Services under RN supervision. The role involves learning endoscope handling and disinfection, assisting with procedures, and providing patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Required: High School diploma or GED, GI Tech Specialist certification within one year, and BLS for healthcare providers. 1 weeknight call and 1 weekend call every 5 weeks. 40 hours weekly, full-time.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or general education degree required
• GI Technical Specialist (GTS) Certification required within one year of hire
• BLS for healthcare provider certification required

Responsibilities

• Assists the Endoscopy/Surgical Services staff to provide high quality patient care
• Learn coordination, handling and disinfection of the endoscope; assist with diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic procedures
• Assist with room setup, turnover, supplies and equipment for endoscopy procedures
• Demonstrate competency in cleaning and disinfecting scopes and endoscopy equipment
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients and families
• Follow all infection control and safety policies; maintain logs for endoscope equipment and inventory
