Job summary

Pinnacle GI Partners is seeking an Endoscopy Technician for our surgery center in Lansing, MI. You will assist physicians, set up rooms, reprocess scopes, and support the clinical team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Schedule is Mon–Fri with no nights or weekends; general 8-hour shift, times vary with facility. We offer competitive pay, PTO, holidays, health benefits, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework desirable.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Experience as Endoscopy Technician or Nurse Assistant preferred.
  • Experience in hospital/surgical or ASC setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates proficiency in cleaning, disinfection and maintenance of endoscopes and accessories.
  • Understands basic video scope anatomy and operation.
  • Transports soiled equipment to decontamination area and cleans per policy.
  • Restocks supplies as needed and adheres to Universal Precautions.
  • Assists with patient care under RN supervision; prepares specimens and documents appropriately.

Job description

Schedule: Mon-Friday, no nights or weekends

Shift: General 8/hr shift (Shift times will vary with facility schedule)

Pinnacle GI Partners are in search of an Endoscopy Tech for our surgery center located in Lansing, MI. The Endoscopy Technician will work under the direction of our physicians, surgery center leadership, and registered nurses to assist in procedures, set up procedure rooms, reprocess scopes to assist the clinical team in delivering excellent patient care.

We’re looking for professionals that are committed to teamwork who understand the value of compassionate care. We currently have a Contingent opening on our team. This position requires a significant amount of multi-tasking, but the ideal candidate will also know when to slow down and provide a welcoming environment for our patients. This position requires effective communication skills with dedication to teamwork and positive attitude.

Some of your responsibilities in this role will be:

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the cleaning, disinfection and maintenance of endoscopes and all accessory equipment used in the Endoscopy Center
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the basic anatomy of video scopes and how they are used and operated
  • Processes equipment with care to prevent damage and to maintain quality and prolong usefulness
  • Maintains automatic scope washer per policy
  • Transports soiled equipment from the procedure room to the decontamination area
  • Adheres to Universal Precautions when cleaning and disinfecting endoscopes and accessories
  • Restocks supplies as needed
  • May administer throat spray and inject saline or dye through an injection needle under the direct supervision of a physician
  • Assists with patient care under the direct supervision of an RN
  • Prepares specimens accurately and documents properly in the patient’s medical record and pathology requisitions, when indicated.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

  • High School graduate or equivalent. College coursework desirable.
  • Previous experience as an Endoscopy Technician or Nurse Assistant is highly preferred
  • Previous experience within a hospital/surgical or ASC setting
  • previous medical training and or experience preferred
  • Current BLS certification
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
