Job summary

Stark Ambulatory Surgery Center in Canton, OH is seeking a full-time Endoscopy Tech to support GI and pain-management procedures. You will prepare equipment, assist physicians, document intra-procedure notes, and help in preop and recovery areas while maintaining the GI procedure space.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Medical assistant certification required.
• Certification in Operating Room Technology is a plus.
• Current BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Knowledge of OR and GI policies and procedures.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Must communicate effectively in English; verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and supplies for GI procedures.
• Assist physicians during GI and PAIN management procedures.
• Document intra-procedure notes and maintain accurate records.
• Maintain clean and organized GI procedure area and equipment.
• Support Preop and Recovery with patient turnover and basic assistance.

Endoscopy Tech at Stark Ambulatory Surgery Center

Responsible for rendering professional care to patients undergoing GI and PAIN management procedures within the surgical center in accordance with established procedures. Functions cooperatively with physicians and staff, exhibiting teamwork characteristics. Prepares equipment and anticipates Physician and patient needs for GI procedures. Provides general maintenance of the clinical area and equipment. Oversees the GI procedures and maintains all aspects of the GI procedure area. Assessing patients prior to procedure. Document intra-procedure notes. Assist physician on all GI procedures. Prepares and maintains equipment and supplies in the GI procedure area. Cleans and maintains equipment per Center policy. Assists in Preop and Recovery with turning over bays, discharging patients, basic patient assistance and stocking

Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required. Competitive salary and benefits for the right candidate.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Medical assistant certification
• Certification in Operating Room Technology a plus
• Current BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• Knowledge of policies and procedures specific to the OR and GI
• Strong Customer Service Skills
• Manual dexterity to handle instruments quickly
• Must be conscientious, organized and able to handle the stress of a busy operating room & GI lab environment
• Must be able to function as a team player
• Possess the abilityto lift 25 pounds
• Must be able to communicate and understand the English language, both written and verbal
