Job summary

United Surgical Partners International, Inc is seeking a full-time Endoscopy Technician to join our Hill Country Ambulatory Surgery Center. The role supports the endoscopy team, prepares sterile setup, assists with patient handling, and ensures a clean, organized room.

Schedule may include early mornings and evenings; weekdays only with no holidays or weekends. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, 2+ years in an endoscopy setting, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an established endoscopy center.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist endoscopy team during procedures and ensure sterile setup.
  • Prepare and move patients; pass instruments to the endoscopy team.
  • Maintain inventory and central distribution of supplies and equipment.
  • Report patient status and care needs to the Charge Nurse and ASC Director.

Job description

USPI Hill Country Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Full Time Endoscopy Technician to join our team. We have 1 OR room and 3 Procedure rooms. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Gastroenterology. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day.

Job Summary:

The Endo Tech assists endoscopy team during endoscopy procedures. They arrange and inventory sterile set-up for operation and passes items as needed to the endoscopy team. Assists in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the endoscopy room. The Endo Tech is responsible for the provision of care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse. Provides a centralized distribution and control of supplies and equipment to the facility. The tech also stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas. Maintains and tracks inventory according to facility procedures. This position reports to the Charge Nurse and ASC Director.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state Nursing Practice Act, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.
  • Actively demonstrate a working knowledge of nursing theory, techniques, principles, and practice in order to care for the patient.
  • Perform routine nursing care while utilizing age specific and universal precaution practices at all times Monitor patient progress and identifies any changes in status, acting on those changes to insure patient comfort and safety.
  • Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patient, always giving a complete and thorough report on patient status throughout procedure process.
  • Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Consistently seek educational tools in order to broaden knowledge base of various age groups, diseases, and best practices.
  • Collaborates with the Infection Control Committee in preventing and identifying potential for infections.
  • Supports and demonstrates continuous improvement of quality and service excellence.
  • May perform other tasks as assigned.
