Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support the Endoscopy Team at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville in a PRN Days role (40 hours per week). The role requires being part of the Endoscopy surgical services team, assisting during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment, and handing instruments to surgeons while upholding patient safety.

Responsibilities include setting up sterile fields, anticipating surgeon needs, proper specimen handling, and collaboration

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Graduation from an Accredited Surgical Technologist CAAHEP or ABHES Program
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program preferred NBSTA or NCCT, but not required

Responsibilities

• Assemble, organize and maintain a sterile field for operative procedures
• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and case progression to prepare accordingly
• Proper disposition of specimens and instruments
• Work with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
• Call is required for this position
