Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – CN II to join Endoscopy Services.

The role involves assessing, preparing, and monitoring patients undergoing GI or Pulmonary procedures, interpreting EKGs, loading medications, and responding to changes in patient condition. ACLS is required; one year RN experience; two years preferred with moderate sedation. Five 8-hour shifts Mon-Fri with standby call.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification and at least one year RN experience.
• Preferred: two years RN experience and moderate sedation experience.
• Must have current NC RN licensure and BLS.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care per physician orders and established policies.
• Monitor and interpret patient condition during GI or Pulmonary procedures, including EKG interpretation.
• Assist other nursing personnel and act as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients.
• Participate in professional development and performance improvement activities.
