Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking an Endoscopy RN to admit and assess patients for endoscopic procedures, administer procedural sedation, and monitor vital signs during procedures. The role includes assisting physicians with equipment, biopsy, brushings and washings, and post-procedure recovery care.

Candidate must hold an active RN license and complete ACLS/BLS within 90 days. EKG training is required within 90 days of hire, with rotating call coverage after hours and on

Qualifications

Must hold a valid RN license.
ACLS and BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
EKG class must be completed within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Admission of patients to the endoscopy lab and assessment of history, meds, labs, vitals, and IV access for sedation.
Triaging inpatients for endoscopic procedures by illness severity.
Assist in diagnostic and specialized endoscopic procedures including sedation and post-procedure recovery.
Assist physicians with interventional procedures (ERCP, EUS, EBUS, PEG tube placements).
Monitor patient recovery through phases I and II post-procedure.
Provide patient and family education on pre- and post-procedure care.
Maintain call coverage nights, weekends, and holidays.
