Job summary

Northwell Health seeks a Per Diem Registered Nurse to provide age-specific care on a designated unit in New York. Shifts begin as early as 0600 and run to 1300, leave as early as 1400 and as late as 2100, totaling 7.5 hours per shift, Monday through Saturday.

The RN will perform the nursing process, coordinate with physicians, lead patient care activities, administer medications, and educate patients and families. NYS RN license and BCLS/ACLS are required, ICU/ED experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
• BCLS, ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses physiologic health status and documents findings.
• Assesses psychosocial health status and cultural needs.
• Identifies patient outcomes and plans individualized goals.
• Implements and coordinates the plan of care with the care team.
• Administers medications safely and educates patients and families.
• Involves discharge planning and referrals as appropriate.
