Job summary

MaineGeneral Health in Augusta, ME is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Endoscopy Unit at the Alfond Center for Health. This role offers a 40-hour workweek with days, variable hours, and shifts designed to support patient care throughout the endoscopy journey.

The RN will perform pre-procedure education, follow-up calls, and provide clinical support on the endoscopy floor, collaborating with the care team to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current State of Maine RN license or ability to obtain promptly
• At least 3 years of RN experience strongly preferred
• Endoscopy/Outpatient experience preferred
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
• Proven and demonstrated critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition
• Coordinates care across disciplines including transfers, discharge, referrals, and psychosocial support needs
• Educates patients and families before procedures and post-procedure recovery instructions
• Maintains and troubleshoots endoscopes and related equipment; may precept students
