Job summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Endoscopy Unit at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. The RN will manage the endoscopy patient journey from pre-procedure education through post-procedure follow-up, ensuring patient readiness and safety.

Responsibilities include care planning, collaboration across disciplines, and education for patients and families. Competitive shift differentials and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Hold a current State of Maine RN license or ability to obtain promptly.
• At least 3 years of RN experience preferred.
• Endoscopy/Outpatient experience preferred.
• Excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes.
• Monitor and document patient condition and coordinate transfer, discharge and referrals.
• Provide patient/family education tailored to age and culture.
• Maintain and troubleshoot endoscopes and related equipment.
• May precept students and new hires.
