Job summary

UNC Health Johnston Endoscopy in Smithfield, NC is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse to provide competent clinical nursing care in a fast-paced endoscopy setting. You will coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director.

Responsibilities include patient education, care planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Candidates must be licensed in NC and hold BLS certification; two years of nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs and educate patients/families.
• Evaluation of care: assess patient outcomes and revise plans.
• Implementation: provide care for patients with complex problems and perform bedside testing as needed.
• Leadership: support unit goals and collaborate across teams.
• Patient assessment: determine priorities and discharge needs.
• Planning: coordinate plan of care with family and resources.
• Research: review journals and bring ideas for improvement
