Job summary

UNC Health Care Johnston Health Endoscopy in Smithfield, NC seeks a per diem Registered Nurse to provide competent nursing care in a fast-paced, hospital-based endoscopy unit.

Responsibilities include patient education, care planning, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. NC RN licensure and BLS are required; two years' nursing experience preferred. Onsite work with daytime hours and occasional on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Two years of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Education: identify learning needs, participate in education programs, assess readiness to learn.
• Evaluation of Care: help set expected outcomes and revise care plans with the team.
• Implementation: provide competent nursing care for patients with complex needs and prepare for discharge.
• Leadership: collaborate with team to achieve unit goals and promote safe care.
• Patient Assessment: assess patient data to determine priorities and discharge planning needs.
• Planning: coordinate plan of care with patient/family and multidisciplinary resources.
• Research: review journals and discuss applicable findings with staff.
