Job summary

Health First in Florida is seeking a Gastroenterology Reprocessing Technician to ensure uncompromised safety, quality, and patient care. You will support licensed personnel in endoscope reprocessing and related activities, maintaining logs and equipment with strict adherence to PPE and manufacturer guidelines.

The role requires a High School Diploma, AHA BLS certification within 90 days, and strong communication to balance workload and meet patient volumes.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare provider card within 90 days of start date and maintained.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Demonstrates communication skills and ability to share workload evenly and complete work in a timely manner to meet patient volumes.

Responsibilities

Maintains tracking records and testing logs for scope room and environment of care.
Adheres to universal precautions and uses PPE per ASGE/SGNA standards.
Performs proper daily maintenance of equipment to ensure proper reprocessing of endoscopes.
Assists in management and troubleshooting equipment failure and servicing of endoscopes and accessories.
Follows manufacturer guidelines for leak testing and reprocessing to provide high level disinfection.
Handles delicate endoscopes with care and stores scopes per manufacturer guidelines.
Works with physicians and staff to keep up with patient flow for scopes.
