TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna, TN is seeking an Endoscopy Nurse PRN to join its operating room team. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families, prepare patients for procedures, and participate in universal protocols to ensure safety and quality care.

This PRN role emphasizes teamwork with surgeons, nurses, and technologists, with on-call requirements for select non-business hours. Candidates should have an RN license, ACLS/BLS within 30 days, and a nursing degree.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 30 days of start date.
• BLS within 30 days of start date.
• RN license/registration required.
• Nursing degree (BSN/ADN/MSN).
• At least 1 year of RN experience.
• Surgical services experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide education to patients and families.
• Prepare patients, including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Participate in surgical site verification and team briefings.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver safe, evidence-based perioperative nursing care.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
• Document changes in patient condition accurately.
• Educate patients about condition, treatment and follow-up.
