Job summary
TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is seeking a PRN Same Day Surgery RN to join our surgical team in Smyrna, TN. The role focuses on preop assessment, patient/family education, and perioperative care within a collaborative operating room environment.
Ideal candidates have an RN license, ACLS/BLS within 30 days, and 1+ year of RN experience, with surgical services experience preferred. Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package and a supportive culture.
Qualifications
- RN license required; ACLS and BLS within 30 days of start
- Surgical Services experience highly preferred
- At least 1 year RN experience
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients prior to surgery
- Educate patients and families on procedures and peri-operative care
- Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds
- Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols
- Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care
- Collaborate with providers, surgeons, techs and team
- Apply nursing process with critical thinking and leadership
- Monitor patient condition and document changes
- Educate patients on treatment and follow-up steps
