Job summary

Austin Endoscopy Center is seeking an Endoscopy Tech to assist in caring for patients undergoing GI/endoscopy procedures. Under the GI/Endoscopy Nurse, you will uphold sterility, organize the unit, and support the team during procedures.

You will prepare rooms, maintain GI equipment, and help with specimen labeling and delivery, contributing to efficient patient flow and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
• One-year acute care experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a sanitary environment for your patient.
• Demonstrate knowledge of high disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
• Prepare the endoscopy unit adequately and ensure availability of necessary GI equipment and supplies.
• Clean GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepare rooms for the next case.
• Assist in the maintenance, care and labeling of specimens.
• Identify specimen with the surgeon and pass to the circulating RN.
