Job summary

St. Mary's General Hospital in Passaic, NJ seeks a GI Lab RN to deliver direct and indirect patient care for surgical and outpatient procedures, following the nursing process and ensuring safety and quality. Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year experience in an acute care or outpatient surgery setting or G.I. lab.
• Completed Moderate Sedation competency within 30 days upon hire required.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of direct and indirect patient care for the Medical-Surgical Outpatient and/or Inpatients receiving surgical and/or invasive procedures.
• Communicates with physicians, co-workers and/or nursing director about the patient’s clinical condition and diagnostic results.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Works with other departments to provide a continuum of care and co-workers to provide continuous, quality patient care, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization.
• Adheres to regulations, standards and hospital policies; participates in Performance Improvement activities and unit meetings.
