Job summary

Ascension Saint Joseph in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Endoscopy department. You will oversee daily unit operations, direct shift staffing, workflow, and patient assignments to ensure high-quality clinical care and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor nursing and support staff, contribute to hiring and professional development, monitor care outcomes, and drive continuous quality improvements across procedure rooms, while maintaining safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Registered Nurse credential from Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; RN endoscopy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily endoscopy unit operations, directing shift staffing, workflow, and patient assignments to ensure high-quality, population-appropriate clinical care and regulatory compliance.
• Supervise, educate, and mentor nursing and support staff throughout assigned shifts while providing input on hiring, professional development, and performance evaluations.
• Monitor clinical care effectiveness, resolve patient care issues through proper channels, and drive continuous quality improvement across procedure rooms.
• Maintain unit leadership by aligning daily clinical operations with department goals, optimizing room efficiency, and enforcing strict patient safety standards.
