Job summary

Geisinger is seeking an Endoscopy RN to support physicians and patients, deliver education, and participate in diagnosis and treatment planning within a dynamic clinic environment. You will work closely with the care team to ensure quality outcomes and patient safety.

This full-time position includes coverage across Pre OP, Post OP, circulator duties and scope processing, with rotating start times. Endoscopy experience is preferred and ACLS certification is required within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Endoscopy experience strongly preferred.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• RN with licensure and clinical training.
• Experience in ambulatory or clinic settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing support to physician and patient.
• Educate patients and promote understanding of treatment plans.
• Assist in procedures and support teamwork on the unit.
• Triages patient sick calls and facilitates treatment with providers.
• Obtain and document medical history and vitals for examinations.
• Oversee chart checks and ensure completed testing is available.
• Assist providers during procedures to enable accurate diagnosis.
• Collect and prepare lab specimens and paperwork for studies.
• Communicate with patients and ensure understanding of care instructions.
• Inserts, monitors, and discontinues IVs as required.
• Administer medications and IV/topical therapies as directed.
• Maintain equipment and asepsis; prep procedure rooms between cases.
• Educate patients on medications and treatments as appropriate.
• Support day-to-day clinic activities.
