Job summary

You will supervise staff, coordinate admissions and discharges, participate in service improvement, and mentor colleagues while adhering to policies and standards. This role also offers opportunities to influence nursing practice through councils and national initiatives.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• BCLS certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN licensed as a Registered Nurse.
• Associate Degree or equivalent in nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assists with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high quality patient-centered care.
• Participates in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services in the unit.
• Collaborates with managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes.
• Supports a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
• Opens nursing strategies and rounds to improve staff engagement and patient care.
• Recommends interviewing, training staff, and action plans including evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assists with staff scheduling and manages labor in line with patient needs and productivity guidelines.
• Supports inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
