Job summary

Bronson Healthcare Group seeks a Central Services Specialist at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital to handle complex instrumentation and support perioperative services. The role requires attention to endoscope care, instrument processing, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

The position involves certification within 12 months, training in decontamination, and coordination with supervisors to ensure case readiness. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Must have 2–4 years of experience in Central Services/Sterile Processing.
• Must obtain certification within 12 months of hire (CS Technician exam through HSPA or CBSPD).
• Knowledge of care and handling of endoscopic, power, and robotic instruments.

Responsibilities

• Process complex instrumentation including flexible and rigid endoscopes, power instrumentation, laparoscopic/robotic equipment, ophthalmology instrumentation and other specialized instrument sets.
• Assist with in-service education to staff on instrument care, processing scopes, and high-risk/low frequency skills.
• Order specialty instrumentation and assist with maintenance and repairs; maintain par levels and support case readiness.
• Assist with decontamination at handwash station during peak volumes and orient new hires to the specialist role.
• Coordinate with supervisors and clinical coordinators to ensure safe, efficient care.
