Job summary

Indiana University School of Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant to support residents in the Graduate Endodontics Clinic. You will assist during root canal procedures, help with anesthesia and patient prep, and ensure sterilization and safety protocols are followed.

The role includes patient communication and collaboration with the front desk for follow-ups. Requires dental assisting training or equivalent, Indiana X-Ray license by hire, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Completion of dental assisting training program or equivalent
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 6 months of dental assisting experience preferred
• Indiana X-Ray license required upon hire
• Radiology license within 6 months from date of hire
• Dental Assistant certification preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Provide chair side assistance to dentist during procedures
• Assist in administration of local anesthesia
• Monitor patient vital signs and blood pressure
• Prepare patients for surgery and provide post-operative care
• Instruct students on radiographs and cone beam imaging
• Sterilize instruments and maintain sterile environments
• Assist front office with scheduling follow-ups
