Job summary

Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana, seeks a skilled Dental Assistant to support student training and patient care in the Special Needs Clinic. You will assist with impressions, x-rays, temporary restorations, and chair-side support, while ensuring sterilization and instrument readiness.

Requires a dental assisting program with experience, or equivalent, plus Indiana X-Ray license at hire. Compensation is hourly with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting training program with 1 year of expanded dental assisting experience or 2 years of dental assisting experience with an accredited program.
• Indiana X-Ray License upon hire; additional licenses as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Takes impressions and bite registrations.
• Takes, develops, and mounts x-rays; instructs students on taking x-rays.
• Fits preliminary crowns and places temporary restorations.
• Places resin and amalgam restorations and polishes.
• Maintains sterilization standards and positions instruments for procedures.
