Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Pediatric or adult endocrinologist to contribute clinical expertise in the development of atumelnant and other endocrinology programs. The Clinical Development Associate Medical Director will serve as the Medical Lead for clinical trials, overseeing study strategy, design, execution and reporting, and monitoring safety while maintaining scientific integrity.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent ex-US medical degree
• 8+ years of basic or clinical research experience
• Board certification/eligibility desired
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with GCP, study design, ethics review and regulatory interactions

Responsibilities

• Participates in development of study protocols, investigators brochures, and regulatory documents with minimal guidance
• Serves on cross-functional Study Execution Teams to ensure high-quality study execution
• Provides scientific input to study documents, analysis plans, and reports
• Acts as liaison between Clinical Development and internal groups (Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Development Execution)
• Represents Vertex to external medical personnel in protocol development, study conduct and reporting
• Performs other duties related to Clinical Development
