Job summary

Northwell Health seeks a Medical Assistant for the Endocrinology team in Danbury, CT. This full-time role provides clinical and clerical support, prepares examination areas, takes vital signs, and ensures accurate EMR documentation to maintain smooth daily operations.

A qualified candidate will have data entry experience, relevant MA program completion or equivalent healthcare training, and basic medical knowledge. CPR certification is preferred, bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Data entry required.
• High School diploma/GED with 1 year MA/Secy experience, or new graduate of Medical Assistant program, or Nursing Assistant training program, or EMT certification, or 3 years job related experience in a medical office.
• Basic medical knowledge and terminology.
• Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Greets and brings patient back from waiting room to clinical area and performs intake activities.
• Transcribes and updates patient information in the patient record.
• Prepares and organizes patient charts and performs related clerical tasks.
• Performs EMR Orders Reconciliation as assigned.
• Maintains clean and stocked examination area and conducts regular environmental rounds.
• Assists patients for visits, prepares gowns and educational materials for providers.
• Conducts in-office testing and coordinates external tests as applicable.
• Collects and processes specimens and ensures results are recorded.
• Maintains equipment inventory and logs.
