The role requires IL APN/PA licensure, a master’s degree in a relevant specialty, and BLS/CPR certification. Schedule is Monday–Friday, average 7:30am–6:00pm, with no weekends or on-call.

• Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant in Illinois.
• Master’s level program in specialty area completed.
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients under the direction of collaborating physician(s).
• Order imaging, labs, and diagnostic procedures and interpret results.
• Instruct patients on prescribed regimens and post-procedure instructions.
• Maintain records and progress notes; follow patients through treatment in clinic and hospital settings.

Under the direction of the collaborating physician(s), provides care to patients. Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results. Instructs patients on the prescribed therapeutic regimen and pre/post operative instructions. Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures. Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic and hospital setting. Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate. Demonstrates evidence-based practice. Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty. Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum. Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health. Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. Promotes wellness and prevent illness and injury in various settings for individuals, families, and communities. Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants.
