Job summary

City of Chicago is seeking an End User Computing Lead to supervise and optimize the City’s EUC endpoints, including PCs, laptops, and tablets, across 10k+ devices. The role focuses on deploying and maintaining EUC devices, driving a robust computing platform, and shaping technology standards and roadmaps.

The incumbent will work with IT and business units to deliver solutions, act as a SME in end-user computing, and manage governance to ensure excellent customer experience.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of technical administration or cloud solutions.
• OR graduation from an accredited college with an associate degree in computer or information science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, database administration, or a directly related field, PLUS six (6) years of technical administration or cloud solutions.
• OR graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in computer or information science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, database administration, or a directly related field, PLUS four (4) years of technical administration or cloud solutions.
• OR graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in computer or information science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, database administration, or a directly related field, PLUS three (3) years of technical administration or cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

• Leads the configuration, deployment, on-going maintenance, and overall management of all City-owned EUC devices and associated supporting management tools and services for those devices.
• Oversees the design, architecture, and management of the end-user computing platform.
• Develops and maintains technology standards based on industry best practices, managing a technology roadmap, and proposing and developing new solutions based on business strategy.
• Works with the broader IT and business organization to deliver solutions.
• Serves as a subject matter expert in end-user computing technology, manages governance and compliance to the standards, and drives focus on delivering excellent customer experience.
• Sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement of operational results.
• Completes performance appraisals for subordinate staff, administers disciplinary functions, and approves staff time off requests.
• Plans, organizes, and controls resources, procedures, and protocols to bring about beneficial changes and/or added value to the City's end-user computer functionality.
• Defines the scope of division development projects, advising on scope changes and quality assurance aspects of the project.
• Provides technical and analytical guidance to the team.
• Additional duties may be required for this position.
