The Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) seeks an End User Computer Coordinator to provide technical support for computer hardware and software across assigned agencies in Chicago. You will diagnose issues, manage AD interfaces, and coordinate small to medium deployments while aligning with DoIT standards.

Essential duties include user collaboration, ticket monitoring, and training on hardware/software, with ongoing professional development to stay current in IT.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for computer hardware and software for assigned agencies, including AD integration and software applications.

• Monitor incident tickets and ensure timely break/fix services within service levels.

Essential Functions

• Under general direction, serves as an End User Computer Coordinator for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), performing difficult and specialized professional activities to support affected agencies in the assigned areas and providing technical support for computer-based hardware and software.
• Diagnoses and resolves computer system related problems including interfaces to active directory (AD), network integrations, and software applications/products adapting complex processing to different system/program requirements.
• Collaborates with users to determine needs and objectives and develops recommendations to accommodate user request and to ensure compatibility with existing hardware and software standards.
• Serves as project coordinator on standard projects including small to medium size computer hardware/software installations and deployments while independently planning, developing, and implementing techniques for gathering and interpreting data.
• Monitors trouble tickets to ensure acceptable service levels for providing break/fix services to agencies within listed time frames are being met.
• Provides group or individual assistance and training to customers on installed hardware and software and other functional areas including but not limited to network and server hardware, software and peripherals.
• Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
• Requires one (1) year of professional experience in client services or a related information technology field.

Specialized Skills

• Requires one (1) year of professional experience providing technical support for end-user hardware, software, and applications systems, including diagnosing and resolving issues using established troubleshooting tools, methodologies, and procedures.
• Requires one (1) year of professional experience administering Active Directory (AD) environments and utilizing automated software deployment tools such as Microsoft Windows/MSI scripts, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or Lite-Touch for configuration, installation, and updates.
• Requires one (1) year of professional experience maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting network-connected devices within a business infrastructure, ensuring proper integration and functionality across systems.
• Requires one (1) year of professional experience installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Windows and MAC operating systems and Microsoft Office client software products in an enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of professional experience providing technical support for end-user hardware, software, and applications systems, including diagnosing and resolving issues using established troubleshooting tools, methodologies, and procedures.
• One (1) year of professional experience administering Active Directory (AD) environments and utilizing automated software deployment tools such as Microsoft Windows/MSI scripts, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), or Lite-Touch for configuration, installation, and updates.
• One (1) year of professional experience maintaining, configuring, and troubleshooting network-connected devices within a business infrastructure, ensuring proper integration and functionality across systems.
• One (1) year of professional experience installing, configuring, and supporting Microsoft Windows and MAC operating systems and Microsoft Office client software products in an enterprise environment.
• One (1) year of professional experience configuring Microsoft Windows and Mac Operating Systems, Microsoft Office client software products, and Active Directory including the use of Automated software deployment tools such as Microsoft Windows/MSI scripts, Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Lite-Touch/MDT and computer programming or scripting.
• One (1) year of professional experience scheduling, coordinating, configuring, and supporting end user hardware, software, and application systems, including experience with automated deployment/imaging tools used for workstation provisioning.
• One (1) year of professional experience in desktop and laptop hardware configurations and troubleshooting, utilizing diagnostic utilities, imaging tools, and established hardware/software troubleshooting procedures.
• Ability to analyze data logically and exercise sound judgment in defining and evaluating problems of an operational or procedural nature
• Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
• Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients and others.
