Job summary

Sequel is seeking a Storyteller to own the full arc of storytelling—from concept through filming and final edit. You’ll create visually stunning, end-to-end content that inspires our members and portfolio companies, aligning with premium brand guidelines.

You will research subjects, write scripts, set up shoots, edit and polish with music, motion, and animation, and push creative boundaries using AI to raise quality and speed. This role lives in LA with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• End-to-end video creation experience.
• A portfolio showcasing captivating, visually stunning stories.
• Expertise in filming including lighting, camera movements and cinematic techniques.
• Hands-on experience with professional gear such as Nikon cameras, lenses, gimbals, and lights.
• Proficiency in video editing software (Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve).
• Basic animation skills.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging content: Produce high-quality, end-to-end videos for our members and portfolio companies.
• Collaborate with startups and document founders' journeys and missions.
• Set up shoots with professional lighting and staging for polished visuals.
• Film in studio and at offsite locations with athletes and founders.
• Edit videos across formats: trailers, educational investing content, founder journeys and behind-the-scenes footage.
• Use AI tools to raise quality and speed in daily workflow.
• Pitch ideas in bi-weekly Story Lab sessions grounded in references.
