Job summary

Skydio is seeking an Advanced / NPI Quality Engineer to own product quality from concept through ramp for one product. You’ll set targets, facilitate risk analysis, qualify suppliers and measurement systems, and sign off on gates.

The role combines DFMEA leadership with on-line quality assurance, including 8D on escapes and daily quality reviews, to ensure a smooth launch and sustained product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in quality engineering on physical products, including end-to-end lifecycle.
• Hands-on DFMEA/PFMEA facilitation and on-line control plan usage.
• Working knowledge of PPAP and root-cause methods with verified closure.
• Experience on factory floor and in design reviews.

Responsibilities

• Concept and planning: set CTQ targets, classify BOM risk, assign PPAP levels.
• Design/EVT: facilitate DFMEA, participate in design reviews and DFM, perform first article inspections.
• Process/DVT: build PFMEA, control plan, run MSA on gauges, review PPAP submissions.
• Validation/PVT: run capability studies, run-at-rate with operators, approve PPAP, implement SPC and corrective actions.
• Launch: design safe-launch plan, run daily quality reviews, manage 8D on escapes, monitor field AFR.
• Handoff: transfer records to sustaining quality and feed learnings into FMEA libraries.
