Job summary

ST Engineering iDirect seeks a Quality Engineer to analyze product and process quality across the full lifecycle, partnering with Product Management, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing to drive continuous improvement in hardware and software.

The role emphasizes DFMEA, Control Plans, CTQs, Six Sigma, and 8D problem-solving, with responsibility for corrective actions, internal audits, and NPI support at pilot runs and production facilities.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field with 3–5 years in hi-tech electronics/RF.
• Experience with SMT assembly manufacturing and IPC standards 610/620/7711/7721.
• Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in Minitab or similar.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• ASQ certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
• Create and maintain Quality Plans, FMEAs, Control Plans, and IAR.
• Interface with contract manufacturers to ensure quality implementation and improvement.
• Perform statistical analysis to qualify processes and support data-driven decisions.
• Lead 8D investigations to drive improvements.
• Dispositions for MRB on non-conformances.
• Assist with writing ISO 9001 / AS9100 documentation.
• Review engineering changes and verify with manufacturing and field.
• Work with customer support to address investigations.
• Conduct audits of processes and suppliers.
