Job summary

OpenAI is seeking Product Engineers to build internal applications end to end for Finance and Supply Chain. You will ship across frontend, backend, data models, and workflow integrations within the Business Systems team.

Strong candidates combine product judgment with engineering depth, moving between React UI, Python APIs, durable workflows, and enterprise integrations. Direct AI experience helps, but core is reliable execution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, shipping production software.
• Experience building internal tools from idea to production, with evolving requirements.
• Strong Python experience and backend services; FastAPI helpful.
• Proficiency with React, TypeScript, and modern web development.

Responsibilities

• Own the full product lifecycle for internal applications from understanding the problem to rollout and improvement.
• Build useful, clear internal experiences with React, TypeScript, and Python services/APIs.
• Design integrations with enterprise systems and own API contracts, authentication, and data mapping.
• Build durable workflows using Temporal or similar technologies with retries, auditing, and observability.
• Apply AI models and agents to business workflows with safeguards and validation.
• Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain partners to translate requirements into dependable products.
• Ensure production quality through testing, monitoring, and incident response.
• Identify patterns across products to create reusable building blocks.
