Job summary

Spherion Staffing and Recruiting is seeking a Payroll, Timekeeping & Expense Accounting Specialist in Melbourne, FL. You will own the labor reporting, payroll GL entries, corporate card reconciliations, and expense compliance, working closely with Accounting, HR, and Program Finance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business and 3+ years in GL, payroll processing, and timekeeping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 3+ years in general ledger accounting, payroll processing, and timekeeping administration.
• Strong MS Excel proficiency (pivots, lookups) and GL/ERP systems experience.
• Experience with government contracting or DCAA compliance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer timekeeping processes, verifying program/project charge codes and maintaining audit trails.
• Process end-to-end payroll, prepare month-end accruals, post GL journal entries, and perform balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage employee expense reimbursements and corporate card reconciliations, enforcing policy and correct cost-center coding.
• Manage state payroll tax registrations and annual Form 1099 compliance.
• Lead internal control enhancements and support audits.
