Job summary

Strategic Staffing Solutions in Houston, TX is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end multi-state payroll with strict accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will validate employee data, process earnings and deductions, and audit results while maintaining confidentiality.

You will partner with Human Resources, Finance, Benefits and other teams to meet deadlines and provide employees with timely payroll support and accurate records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of payroll administration experience.
• Experience with end-to-end payroll processing.
• Experience with multi-state payroll.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Experience with ADP, Workday, Salesforce or similar HRIS.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential employee and payroll information.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll accurately and within deadlines.
• Manage full end-to-end payroll cycle.
• Audit payroll data for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Audit timecards, hires, terminations, and pay changes.
• Process earnings, deductions, bonuses, and retroactive pay.
• Review payroll reports and correct discrepancies.
• Prepare final paychecks per state requirements.
• Resolve complex payroll discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll records and confidentiality.
• Coordinate payroll with HR, Finance, Benefits, and partners.
• Identify process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform additional payroll duties as assigned.
