Job summary

Allegheny Millwork & Lumber is seeking a Kitchen & Bath Designer who owns projects end-to-end—from initial consultation through final design, sale, and handoff to installation. This role blends design excellence with sales discipline and mentorship, guiding less experienced designers and refining department processes.

You will develop cabinetry-driven spaces across kitchens, baths, and related rooms, while maintaining trade-partner relationships and expanding department growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of kitchen and bath design experience with proven sales performance.
• NKBA certification preferred; NCIDQ a bonus.
• Experience mentoring designers and leading junior staff.
• Proficient in 2020 Design, Chief Architect, or AutoCAD.
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-showroom or in-home consultations to assess client needs and budget.
• Develop functional, aesthetically compelling designs for kitchens, baths, and cabinetry-driven spaces.
• Prepare specifications, materials, and drawings using industry software.
• Present designs and proposals professionally.
• Guide clients through the design-to-sell workflow and quotes.
• Maintain CRM records and meet sales targets.
• Coordinate handoff to project management and installation.
• Mentor junior designers and enforce department processes.
• Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and trade partner relationships.
• Identify process improvements to drive department growth.
