Job summary

Automotive & Mobility is seeking a Hybrid Powertrain Calibration Engineer to join the Powertrain Controls & Calibration team in Chelsea/Auburn Hills, MI. You will develop calibration strategies from HIL to production and collaborate with calibration teams and CoE to align best practices.

You should have a BS in a relevant engineering field, experience with electrified powertrains, and strong Matlab/Simulink skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related degree.
Experience with electrified powertrain calibration or embedded controls.
Strong oral and written communication, ability to work independently and with others.
High analytical ability and creativity, balance multiple issues.
Familiarity with Matlab Simulink, GT Power; INCA is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop HCP calibration from first HIL simulators through dynos and mule vehicles up to production.
Own calibration activities across application, optimization, validation, and logistics/fleet support, including HCP calibration reviews.
Support HIL and dyno commissioning first-run activities for new powertrain architectures with HCP controls team.
Review calibrations via SWCRs to ensure initial values are correct for each new software release.
Provide training to new calibration engineers and others on hybrid vehicle operation and controls; support test trips and reporting.
