Job summary

Tundra Technical Solutions is seeking an on-site Hybrid Application Calibration Engineer in Chelsea, MI to drive calibration from HIL simulators to production. Work includes calibration reviews, training, and support across Chelsea Proving Grounds and Auburn Hills centers.

Requirements include a BS in engineering and powertrain calibration experience; proficiency with Matlab/Simulink, GT Power, INCA, and strong communication. Contract role with benefits outlined.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree
• Experience with electrified powertrain calibration or embedded controls
• Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to work independently and with others
• High level of analytic ability and creativity
• Ability to balance work effectively on multiple issues
• Strong knowledge of the Powertrain system
• Leadership presence engaging management as needed to achieve objectives
• Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink and GT Power
• Calibration tool INCA is a plus
• Experience in Powertrain Control solutions development (powertrain control algorithms, OBD, embedded software)
• Knowledge of fundamentals of internal combustion engines
• Experience in engine/transmission design and development and/or Powertrain Systems Engineering

Responsibilities

• Assist calibration teams with daily calibration activities and issue resolution
• Review new calibrations with software change requests and ensure initial values are correct by reviewing SWCRs
• Support Hardware-In-Loop and dyno commissioning activities for new powertrain architectures
• Provide training to new calibration engineers on hybrid vehicle operation
• Support development test trips and report activities for Sr. Management
• Work with CoE teams to ensure best practices
• Provide support to resolve system issues
• Demonstrate teamwork and promote team accomplishments
