Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Controls Engineer in the Newark area to own full project lifecycles for manufacturing automation. You will design, build, test, and commission control systems across PLC/HMI/SCADA/DCS/MES, leading teams and interfacing with customers on-site.

The role emphasizes ownership, project lifecycle management, and mentoring engineers, with travel required to client facilities and strong growth toward leadership roles.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with control systems in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience configuring PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and MES.
• Understanding of process control or manufacturing processes.
• Ability to manage a project through its entire lifecycle.
• Strong written and oral communication and MS Office skills.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to drug test/background check.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document control systems that meet customer needs.
• Lead project teams to ensure quality, on-time delivery.
• Configure PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and MES applications for manufacturing.
• Communicate with customers on-site and remotely to refine solutions.
• Travel to customer sites to implement, test, and commission deliverables.
• Mentor engineers on control concepts and project methods.
• Manage documentation, reporting, and communication using MS Office.
