Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management.
Four (4) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved equivalence.
A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.

Responsibilities

Assist in supervising encroachment permit review and approval.
Review complex encroachment permits for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with SCDOT standards.
Prepare detailed comments and engineering recommendations during design reviews for encroachment permits.
Assist in meetings with developers, property owners, consultants, and local governments to represent District Permit Engineering interests.
Attend final and ongoing site inspections to ensure permit design compliance and safety.
Coordinate plan reviews with District Engineers, county staff, and HQ for complex permits.
