Job summary

Renesas Electronics seeks an experienced Software Architect to join the Embedded Processing team in Austin, Texas. The role focuses on software emulation tools for shift-left development, enabling engineers and customers to test software months before silicon is available.

You will bridge hardware and software cycles, work with emulation platforms, and shape pre-silicon development strategies and roadmaps across industrial, consumer, and IoT markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years in a technical leadership or team lead capacity
• Proven track record in embedded systems or semiconductor industry

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Strategy: Define technical requirements and architectural standards for software emulation workflows.
• Development & Implementation: Design and implement virtual platform configurations using Synopsys Virtual Platform, QEMU, or SIMICS; build automation pipelines for CI/CD; debug system-level issues.
• Customer Enablement: Enable early access programs for key customers and gather feedback to inform roadmaps.
• Team Management: Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, coordinate timelines and resources, foster collaboration aligned with Renesas values.
